Overview

InfiniteNotes is a Windows desktop workspace for notes and scripts in one window. Multi-tab editing covers Notes and Script modes, language-aware highlighting for PowerShell, Batch, Bash, JavaScript/TypeScript, JSON, Python, Lua and Markdown, project folders that restore open documents and unsaved buffers, local OCR, and thirty-six themes.

The product is also an AI harness and machine-learning workbench that stays inside your files. Smart Chat (Ctrl+B) is off until you enable it. Bring your own key for Cursor, Fireworks, Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini, or Mistral; keys live in the OS credential store and classified model menus help you pick for speed versus task fit. Ask mode is read-only. Agent mode proposes disk and remote changes on Apply cards you confirm. Agent (auto) can run local project edits, git, and shell steps within budgets while pull requests, network git, and CLITiles actions still require confirmation. Workflow presets (Answer, Draft, Edit, Research, Analyze, Repository) steer ML-assisted work without silently widening permissions.

Durable jobs (0.6.x) pause and resume with checkpoints, coverage tracking, call/token/time budgets, and completion only after verified file delivery—so long-running analysis and generation stay measurable. Version 0.6.0-beta.2 keeps that harness and fixes sync persistence plus remote conversation pull. Predictive text and OCR are local-first and off by default. The CLITiles bridge pastes selected text as Paste Only by default; Paste and Run is a separate confirmed action. Notes stay on your disk unless you turn on optional sync or an AI provider.

  • Multi-tab editor with Notes and Script modes, find/replace, go-to-line, OS spell check, and a system font picker.
  • Language-aware highlighting for PowerShell, Batch, Bash, JavaScript/TypeScript, JSON, Python, Lua, Markdown, and plain text.
  • Projects restore open documents, cursors, modes, and unsaved buffers; recovery snapshots survive restarts.
  • 36 themes (2 built-in, 34 bundled) with import, save, and delete for user themes.

AI harness and ML workflows (optional, bring your own key)

  • Smart Chat with Ask, Agent, and Agent (auto)—an in-app harness so models operate on your tabs and project tree instead of a separate IDE.
  • Providers: Cursor, Fireworks, Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (ChatGPT), Google Gemini, and Mistral. Classified model menus for speed and task fit; provider charges are billed to you.
  • Workflow presets steer machine-learning-assisted intent (Answer, Draft, Edit, Research, Analyze, Repository) without changing permissions.
  • Workspace tools: read/edit documents, project tree, granted folders, git/shell, URL fetch, GitHub helpers, and CLITiles send—with Apply cards before mutating work in Agent mode.
  • Durable ML-style jobs: paged inventory, hashed coverage, pause/resume, budgets, and verified file delivery (0.6.x).
  • Predictive text off by default; offline buffer completion with optional Anthropic.

OCR, remotes, and CLITiles

  • Local Tesseract OCR; images never leave the device. English data ships with the installer.
  • Repository connectors for GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps, Roblox, and CurseForge; tokens in the OS credential store.
  • CLITiles named-pipe bridge: Paste Only by default; Paste and Run separate and confirmed.
  • Optional Supabase account for conversations, settings, and hashed project metadata. Sync-off preference persists across relaunch (0.6.0-beta.2).

Who it is for

People who keep runbooks, scripts, and project files together and want an in-app AI / ML harness—Ask, Agent, or Agent (auto)—under explicit Apply and budget rules.

Use it to

  • Use the AI harness to draft, edit, research, or analyze inside open notes and project files, then Apply only what you accept.
  • Run a bounded Agent / ML-style job across a large project folder with pause/resume checkpoints and verified outputs.
  • Hand a reviewed command from a runbook to CLITiles, or ask a configured model about the document you have open.

What changed

Fix release on top of 0.6.0-beta.1 (AI harness and durable jobs unchanged).

AI harness (from 0.6.0-beta.1, still current):

  • Opt-in Smart Chat with Ask, Agent, and Agent (auto) modes—models work inside your notes and project files under Apply / budget rules, not as a hand-off to another IDE.
  • Bring-your-own-key providers (Cursor, Fireworks, Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini, Mistral) with classified model menus for speed and task fit.
  • Workflow presets and workspace tools (tabs, project tree, granted folders, git/shell, URL fetch, GitHub helpers, CLITiles send).
  • Durable local jobs: paged inventory, hashed coverage, pause/resume checkpoints, call/token/time budgets, and completion only after verified file delivery.
  • Predictive text and local OCR remain off by default.

Fixed in 0.6.0-beta.2:

  • "Turn sync off" now survives an app relaunch (restored sessions no longer silently re-enable Supabase sync).
  • Opening a conversation pulls the remote copy first when sync is on; changes from another device refresh the open conversation.

Also includes a documentation and chat-provider test-coverage pass (no additional behavior change). No Supabase schema migration required.

Install

  1. Download InfiniteNotes-Setup-0.6.0-beta.2.exe.
  2. The installer is not code-signed. Windows SmartScreen will warn; choose More info, then Run anyway, only after the SHA-256 on this page matches your file.
  3. Verify with PowerShell: Get-FileHash .\InfiniteNotes-Setup-0.6.0-beta.2.exe -Algorithm SHA256
  4. The installer lets you choose the install directory and installs per user (no administrator rights required).

Remove

  • Use Settings > Apps > Installed apps > InfiniteNotes > Uninstall. Local data lives under %APPDATA%\InfiniteNotes and is not removed automatically.

Known limitations

  • Beta software: features and storage formats may change between betas.
  • Windows only.
  • The installer is not code-signed; SmartScreen will show a warning. Verify the SHA-256 before running.
  • No automatic update feed; check the downloads page for new releases.
  • Approved shell and git commands run by agent mode are not sandboxed by the operating system.
  • AI features are optional and use your own provider API keys; provider charges are billed to you.

Selecting a download while signed out takes you to sign-in and returns you to this exact file. Downloads on this site are counted as "authorized transfers", never as installations.
